Jabez and Ryan, two boys of color, meet at a predominantly white Christian camp in the sweltering summer of 2003. Their friendship quickly grows into a budding romance that they try to keep alive after returning home. Their feelings for each other are complicated by their parents, their faith, and the hazards of landline phones. The play explores queerness, evangelical Christianity, the experience of people of color in the Church, teenage angst, and otherness.
