Daniel Rashid (Gordon Ellis) is an actor, writer, director and producer. Recent acting credits include Beast Beast (Sundance/SXSW), Being Frank (SXSW), Atlanta (FX), and Paper Girls (Amazon). Daniel has written and directed a number of short films and music videos. Danny Breslin (Leighton Ellis) was born in Chicago and now also finds home in Los Angeles. A graduate of the School at Steppenwolf and USC (BFA Acting), Danny has been trained for both stage (EVIL PERFECT by Spencer Huffman) and screen (Chicago PD). He is an ensemble member of Bramble Theatre Company, and his work has been commended by Tony, Emmy & Oscar-nominated actors.

Mary Kate Wiles (Dolly) starred as Lydia Bennet in the Emmy Award-winning webseries The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, and her combined digital projects boast over 100 million views and over $1 million in successful Kickstarters. She has since gone on to star in a slew of digital series, films, and has made multiple TV appearances, most notably as the human incarnation of cartoon villain Vicky in the live-action reboot of The Fairly Oddparents: Fairly Odder. She is currently starring in Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story, a series she produced with Shipwrecked Comedy.

Camila Ascencio (Valentina) is thrilled to work with Artists at Play for the first time! She was last seen in DETAINED at The Fountain Theatre. She has studied at Stella Adler (NY) and received her BFA from CalArts. Aside from productions at these institutions she has performed with companies including Golden Thread, New Conservatory Theater, ACT, The Marsh, Shinbone and Teatro Linea de la Sombra. She currently works for Kaiser Permanente’s Educational Theater, where she tours theater and facilitates workshops on social emotional health at elementary schools across the country. She speaks Spanish, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Geri-Nikole Love (Regina Wood) has a BFA in Theatre from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Since graduating, she became a co-founder of The Movement Theatre Company and has performed in various plays in New York City; CARLISLE: a different Three Sisters’ (La Mama), BLACK BOY & THE WAR (Harlem School of the Arts) and is a proud Actors Equity and SAG-AFTRA member. She has starred in multiple Lifetime Movie Network Films and Independent Features (Downshift), New Media (Livin’ The Dream) and featured on network TV (Fantasy Island, West World, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Lethal Weapon). Valerie Spencer (Galina Petrova) is a longtime member of Critical Mass Performance Group, and has devised and performed in AMERYKA, APOLLO, ALCESTIS, THE AKHMATOVA PROJECT and UNTITLED COMMUNION among many other works by the company. Other theatre: INDECENT at DCPA, HOW TO DISAPPEAR COMPLETELY AND NEVER BE FOUND (Boston Court), OUT OF OUR FATHER’S HOUSE (Edinburgh Fringe). TV: Veep, The Jury. FILM: A One Time Thing, The Moment I Was Alone, Grams. PODCAST: The dramatic thriller Blackout, opposite Rami Malek. Valerie has a long-standing career as a voice actor. She has also appeared in multiple works by renowned video artist Bill Viola.

Julia Cho (Stage Directions, Artists at Play Producing Artistic Leader), born and raised in Los Angeles, is an actor and a founding member of Asian American theatre-producing collective, Artists at Play. Upon graduating from UC Berkeley, Julia starred in the award-winning Word for Word production of Amy Tan’s IMMORTAL HEART at the Magic Theatre. She has performed/toured with East West Players, Will & Company, Playwrights’ Arena, Pasadena Playhouse, Center Theatre Group, and Boise Contemporary Theatre. Julia is probably best known as Charlotte Lu in the Emmy-winning web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Other credits include roles on TV shows Scandal, Goliath, and This Is Us. Boni B. Alvarez (Playwright) is a Los Angeles-based actor and playwright. His plays include APARTMENT LIVING, AMERICA ADJACENT, BLOODLETTING, FIXED, NICKY, DALLAS NON-STOP, DUSTY DE LOS SANTOS, DRIVEN, GUARDED, EMMYLU, AND RUBY, TRAGICALLY ROTUND. His plays have been produced at Center Theatre Group’s Kirk Douglas Theatre, Echo Theater Company, Coeurage Theatre Company, Skylight Theatre Company, Theatre Rhinoceros, and Playwrights’ Arena. He is an alum of the Geffen Playhouse Writers’ Room, CTG Writers’ Workshop, Humanitas Play LA, Moving Arts’ MADlab, and the CBS Writers Mentoring Program. He is currently in the Writers’ Odyssey at the Odyssey Theatre and a Resident Playwright of New Dramatists.

Fran de Leon (Director) is an actor, writer, and director born in Downtown Los Angeles, raised in Hollywood and Manila. Having twice worked on MARABELLA as the titular character, Fran is thrilled to once again collaborate with Boni B. Alvarez, this time shifting over as director of this epic adaptation of MEDEA. This is Fran’s fourth collaboration with Artists at Play. She has also worked with Center Theater Group, South Coast Rep, The Geffen Playhouse, Critical Mass Performance Group, The Getty Villa, The Pasadena Playhouse, Playmakers’ Rep, East West Players, The Music Center, Playwrights’ Arena, Cornerstone Theater, and the Garry Marshall Theater. Writer and director credits include commissioned work for CTG, Segerstrom Center’s Arts Teach, TreePeople, and Twelfth Night Rep. TV credits include recurring roles on AppleTV’s For All Mankind, and ABC’s For the People. Isabella Gomez (Stage Manager) is a USC graduate with a BFA in Stage Management. She has stage managed the USC main stage productions as well as events hosted by the university. Since graduation, Isabella has been a stage manager for events at Fox Studios and is currently a production assistant at America’s Got Talent.
Alison Rodriguez (A Noise Within Interim Associate Producer) is a resident artist with the company, having performed in countless productions over the years (SIX CHARACTERS IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHOR, TARTUFFE, THE TEMPEST, A CHRISTMAS CAROL). She was recently the Education Director at Conchita Espinosa Academy, a school for the arts in Miami. Alison has worked as a teaching artist and facilitator at numerous non-profit organizations and received her MA in theater education at the University of Northern Colorado.
Stefanie Lau (Artists at Play Producing Artistic Leader) is a theatre maker with more than 20 years experience in Los Angeles theatre. She is a co-Founder and co-Producing Artistic Leader of Artists at Play, where she produces mainstage shows, new play development programs, Theatre for Young Audiences performances, fundraisers, and other special events. Stefanie previously worked at Center Theatre Group, East West Players and Ford Amphitheater, and is a Cold Tofu Improv associate member. A graduate of UCLA, Stefanie sits on the national board of the Consortium of Asian American Theatres and Artists, and is a member of the Greater Los Angeles BIPOC Artistic Directors Cohort and Theatre Producers League of Southern California.
Naomi Horibe (Artists at Play Producing Associate) is a producer from Japan. She was an Associate Producer for IS THIS A ROOM and DANA H. on Broadway. She also has worked for various theatrical organizations in New York, including Ars Nova, Manhattan Theatre Club, and New York Musical Festival. She was a participant in the inaugural group for Theatre Producers of Color (TPOC). Before she moved to the United States from Tokyo, she sold musicals and plays, such as MISS SAIGON, LES MISERABLES, WICKED, THE LION KING, THE LITTLE MERMAID, SISTER ACT, DREAMGIRLS, WAR HORSE, AMERICAN IDIOT, ONCE, BRING IT ON, etc.
